Sensor and Sensor City City Mobility announce Wednesday 5 September at the start of a large-scale experiment. The aim is partly to better understand the travel behavior of motorists. Before the coming months motorists recruited from Assen and environment. Furthermore give Deputy Ard van der Tuuk and Asser councilor Henk Matthijsse an explanation of the project and Sensor City.

Parkingware, as Sensor City consortium participant, is responsible for the License Plate Recognition systeem for the 5 municipal parkings  and the Q-Park P + R in Assen. Parkingware developed a license plate concept for McDonalds.
The badge of the customer is linked to the order that the customer has placed
and is automatically printed on the McDonalds packaging of products.

This provides for 80% less litter around the McDonalds locations compared to the old situation without license plate.

McDonalds Netherlands has cancelled the pilot in Assen.
